i read that you shouldnt stretch before training but to warm up on a running machine to get the blow flowing,and then stretch after training
to all of us “HIT jedis” Mike is like Yoda. What is so great about HIT is that it can be tweaked for everybody using different intensifying techniques, whether it be forced reps ala Yates or rest pause such as DC. there is no right or wrong way to train but frankly i don’t want to do 20 sets for my chest when i can kill it in 2
really? that much?? damn.
@skopex18 not shouldn’t, just that it’s no point stretching cold muscles. warm up, then stretch your muscles to increase your flexibility or to prevent injury

@ivanasv “if you want to know the proper method for training a champion racehorse you ask the trainer not the horse” – quote wasnt exact but its from the nautilus bulletin
Agreed. Boyer Coe does the same thing. A little too much speed for our critical eyes! LOL Some genetic freaks can grow massive in spite of their “imperfect” form. Mike still did a lot to advance the concept of slow reps and training to failure. I still can’t rap my arms around his “rest/pause” method of training. Seems counter to a lot of Jones’ philosophy of constant tension.
whoa did you guys see that SICK transition at 3:11?! i love these old school vids. they’re so educational.
It’s HIT right for beginners ?
Yea, because winning that particular contest means everything right? Wrong. It proves you’re popular. That’s all. The olympia is Joe Weider’s baby, and you don’t win unless he says you win. Come on, get your head out of your ass. You don’t honestly think that Arnold, Lee, or Ronnie were the greatest physiques every single time, year in and year out do you? Tell me you’re not that gullible. They won because they kissed Joe’s ass and did what he told them to do. End of story.
@ivanasv
If you want to do BODYBUILDING only. Not athletics.
@LekuBR
Reguardless of what ever type of training you decide to do…100% intensity is a must. Now in regards building muscle….HIT is not the best option for a beginner. Hitting failure, as a beginner, can be somewhat dangerous because they are not used to the sensation of lactic acid, intense muscular contractions, and heavy weights. Start out on a beginner level program that allows you to progress in strength rapidly, such ass mark rippetoes starting strength or bill starrs 5×5 (for novice)
@doggcrappDAVE I wud slightly disagree. Aslong as u are makin gains and you are happy, fair enough. We are all on a HIT journey. Sum of us choose to go there right away and not waste time. Others enjoy being in the gym, enjoy the pump etc, and they will come later, PROVIDED making gains is important to them. Even with HIT, there are just a few vital principles. TBC
@doggcrappDAVE you have to train intensely, so that means taking a set to at least positive failure, and training only at the frequency dictated by your recuperation. As for rest pause, statics, negatives etc. That’s up to you and almost irrelevant.. So put simply, there is a wrong way to train, and it is if you are not making gains. If not, you are another step closer on your HIT journey.
@collin355 what you look like now is irrelavant. ALL that matters is if someone has made progress. I can tell you ive gone from around 10st to 17 st but so what if i look nothing like ronnie. If he trained with me for one day, he’d never show up to the gym again, nor would branch, jay etc. They train like pussies, but they genetically very gifted and been usin gear gear prob all their trainin life. Charles glass is a TWAT. No logic at all to his ideas.

@Martinl792002 im really happy for you, but you will soon be on a much reduced frequency. Training two days in a row, TWICE??? WTF Enjoy that whilst you are gaining, because the brakes will soon slam on. I struggle to believe anyone can train all out and have recovered AND grown beofre the start of their next workout, 24 hours later.
@thomasmichael1 i agree with what you say. it has taken me 8 yrs to find a training method which works for me, and even that has been tweaked slightly, so my HIT journey has been quite a long one. thanks for the constructive reply too, as normally people on here who disagree just trash talk
@doggcrappDAVE I agree with you regarding tweaking. I dont give a shit if a particular ex gave so and so huge legs/delts etc, if it doesnt feel right for me ill not do it. We are all indiviudals in that respect. Ive dun HIT for 25 years but i used to do it three times a week. At one point i was doing it four times a month!!! What works for me and is the minimum required is the most perfect routine EVER!!!!!!!!
I want to reapraise. There is a wrong way to train, namely not making gains despite how intense n frequent etc. there is also an ‘acceptable way to train and that is making gains but doing ten times as much as required. Then the right way, namely getting the max gains out of minimum training. We are allhere somewhere!! Could you imagine sayong Im gonna fly from NY to london but i want to go via LA (not to stop off!!!) you’d think what an idiot, must have time n money to burn. ‘acceptable’? hmmm
@mohammad112388
Thx. Mohammad
@thomasmichael1 I think alot of it is genetics… Max-OT, Dogg Crapp are great training programs as well. You did the 4 times a month routine? How’s your results? I’m on a max -ot 2 month cycle now. I’ve never tried the once a week routine just because 4 days a week has worked well for me the past year, but i’m always willing to try something new
@thomasmichael1 lol so true… the guys he trained are so genetically blessed its sick.
@Martinl792002 worked fine for me. I think with recuperation you simply have to pay close attention to it. If you feel fatigued and not too enthusiastic, prob not ready in my view. I agree with the guys at power factor traing when they say you have a day which is the earliest you could/should train and one that is the last if not to lose size. Cud be 2,3, 4 days between em. Sunm used to say 96 hrs! LMAO
Im just discovering the wisdom that Mentzer had. Damn it, I wish I had known all this when I was starting out.
